History: Kitaro is Debbie and Tom Misotti’s first monkey. He was born at the Baltimore Zoo. He was scheduled to be sent to a breeder when the Misotti’s decided to buy him instead.

Today, Kitaro is a happy and healthy monkey.  He loves his new tower cage and is a great favorite with our volunteers.  He was the foundation of the idea for the educational aspect of our sanctuary.  It was after joining the Misottis, the founders started volunteering at the Graves Museum of Natural History, giving presentations on the Rainforests around the world, the necessity of those rainforests and the creatures who reside there…
